"Hello everyone, I just wanted to share some news with you about a change we will be making soon. July 16th will be the last day of operation for AFC. At least in its current shape and form. AFC has been instrumental in getting Amass through the last two years financially. It also taught us how to operate a fast-casual restaurant without compromising on the quality of our ingredients. It taught us how to interact with a new demographic of guests and how it’s essential not to take yourself too seriously. However, it has also come with a new set of challenges. As most of you are probably aware, the cost of goods has gone through the roof, making it increasingly difficult to keep the price point where it needs to be at AFC. And as most of you are probably also aware, we are unwilling to compromise on quality and shift to a cheaper product to keep our prices where they need to be. We could, of course, do this and keep it under the radar, but for us, transparency is key to pushing our food system and our business in the right direction. I genuinely believe that people should be asking, and restaurants should be sharing where their food is coming from and how it's produced, regardless of their price point. So, when Amass reopens on July 26th after our summer break, it will be without AFC but in a version of Amass more akin to the one you knew pre-pandemic, and we will be putting all our efforts into making it an even greater experience to dine at Amass. Thank you to everyone that has come out to support AFC and Amass. We couldn't have made it this far without you! Most importantly, thank you to the team, past and present, for being so nimble over the last two years. You are indeed the definition of hospitality! You got about three weeks left to enjoy what we’ve spent the last two years building, and hopefully, we'll see you all in the garden for a last basket of chicken. - Matt"
